Still on the road...

Just wanted to touch base with everyone. I am still on the road, but got to get on a computer. My wife got to South Dakota fine and is settling in to her new job. Praise the Lord!

I am fine and got to eat Thanksgiving Dinner an hour ago here at FOB Warhorse.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and may God bless!

May be off tumblr for a good little while.

Wanted to post this so no one gets worried. Got a long mission coming up…possibly weeks and I am not sure if I am going to be able to post or not. If I do they will be few and far between as I usually have to search out the internet centers on different installations.

My wife will be moving to South Dakota while I am gone and starting her new job. Prayers would be greatly appreciated for her safety and peace of mind through this, cause I will probably only get to contact her infrequently.

I will continue praying for all on my prayer list and may God keep and bless you all!

Bill posted a new follower of his, spontaneouslove.tumblr.com .  She really seems to be having a hard time, I can’t get her off of my mind, . She’s in her 20’s and is very sick with cancer. Please, let’s keep her in our prayers.

She ended up in the emergency room again today, throwing up blood.  I feel pretty helpless.  If you pray, please pray for her.  She is one of us, and is young, bright, and has a lot to live for.

Jesus is the Chief Pastor of the church; I am just an under-shepherd. I can’t even answer an email, but Jesus knows exactly what you’re thinking.

Been going through a very difficult and humbling time lately. Would appreciate it very very much if all of you could spare a few minutes to just pray for me - for physical strength, for wisdom, for me to put God above all things. :)

And if you have any prayer requests for ME, feel free to post them here:

The spirit of Christ is the spirit of missions. The nearer we get to Him, the more intensely missionary we become.

There are times that my daughter’s Crohn’s Disease just overwhelmes her. Right now is one of those times. She has been sick most of her 31 years and she doesn’t know life any other way. She doesn’t focus on it she keeps going, keeps busy etc. Never complains about it. She just called after leaving another drs appt and said she is so sick of being sick and was just so sad. This is something I am not used to from her it seems to have just gotten to her, after all of these years. It affects so much of her body and she’s in constant pain, discomfort and exhaustion of some kind. Pretty much any manifestation of the disease attacks her body. It’s brutal.

Please keep her in your prayers. No matter how old they are they are still your babies, so a prayer for me to be strong would be helpful.

Thank you.

DEUTERONOMY 22:22
If a married person has sex with someone else’s husband or wife, the Bible commands that both adulterers be stoned to death.

John 8:11

but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.  Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and he sat down and taught them.  The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst  they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery.  Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?”  This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground.  And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”  And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground.  But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him.  Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”  She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”

What a perfect example Jesus gives of what the new covenant brings!

But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—  the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe.

Romans 3:21

At the root of all our disobedience are particular ways in which we continue to seek control of our lives through systems of works-righteousness. The way to progress as a Christian is to continually repent and uproot these systems the same way we become Christians, namely by the vivid depiction (and re-depiction) of Christ’s saving work for us, and the abandoning of self-trusting efforts to complete ourselves. We must go back again and again to the gospel of Christ-crucified, so that our hearts are more deeply gripped by the reality of what he did and who we are in him.

Clarifying on persecutions.

Greetings,

I pray that through this response you will better understand where I am coming from on this.

I wrote “Remember that persecution is something God grants to us and strange as it may sound it is a privilege. I know this is hard teaching for some of us in the west to understand, but it is so!”

From your e-mail it seems to me that you thought I was implying that God causes persecution. Not at all! I agree God would not persecute those who he loves!

That being said I do believe that God allows us to go through persecution for various reasons both for building us up and to build the church.

Persecution does not happen due to us stepping outside of God’s protection. Persecution can come in the form of mockery, scorn, beatings, imprisonment and worse and all for the sake of His Name! It is the normal situation of a Christian that Jesus told us would happen to us (John 15:18-23, Matthew 24:9). Persecution can be the will of God, even though God does not cause it because it will result in more Glory to Him and the spreading of His Word! (1 Peter 4:12-19, 2 Timothy 1:8, Acts 5:25-42, Acts 8:1-4) Indeed it has been granted to us to suffer for Christ’s sake! (Philippians 1:29) Paul was an extremely faithful Christian and look at what he suffered for Christ! (1 Corinthians 11:23-28)

Indeed the New Testament is filled with examples that show that suffering and persecution were normal and to be thought of as an honor. God doesn’t bring them on us, but He lets them happen to us to build us up, make us stronger in him and make us to trust fully in Him and His Son! Jesus promised us a lot, but also persecution (Mark 10:29-30)! Christians need to keep their eyes on the world to come when these things come because unbelievable glories await us! (Romans 8:18)

If you have anything to add or some other point you would like to bring up please feel free to e-mail me or reblog!

Peace to you in our Lord!
