I was recently in N/E Texas for a week, and one of the things I remember hearing a lot about was Walmart. Mostly good things… bigger than life, carriers of all things, so awesome that small businesses can’t keep up with them (good or bad?), everywhere and in every town, open 24 hours a day,…
Yesterday was a very scary day. After her third consecutive night of chemotherapy Daisy had become unresponsive. She could not speak or control her body and would just stare off into space. This sort of catatonic state was only interrupted by occasional crying, whimpering, puking and other…
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
Now. Not five years from now when you are a better Christian. Right now. At this instant.
No. None at all. Not even a little. Zero. Gone. Poof.
For those in Christ Jesus. And only because we are in him. We provide everything that deserves condemnation. He provides everything that deserves acceptance.
This is the plain message of the Bible, because God not only does not condemn us, he also doesn’t want us feeling condemned. He wants us feeling freed. Nothing like no-condemnation to get us riled up for his glory!”
“It is the glory of Christ that finally satisfies our soul. We are made for Christ, and Christ died so that every obstacle would be removed that keeps us from seeing and savoring the most satisfying treasure in the universe- namely, Christ, who is the image of God.”—Piper, God is The Gospel, pg. 62. “Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?” [Jonah4:11]
This made me remember that we are starting a new series in the book of Jonah this Sunday at church. The series is called “We are Jonah”. Sort of stoked about it!

I have been working at my new job for two days now and I am really enjoying it. I will be praying that I work like Colossians 3:22-25 tells me too (though I am not a slave I believe it applies).
Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality. -Colossians 3:22-25
Also pray for my wife, I had to fly back to Rapid City to be at the new job on time. My wife has to drive that 1200 miles back by herself on Saturday and Sunday.
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 8:38-39
